Carrying the Current:
a guided experience designed to help you feel steady, prepared, and clear when conversations about suicide arise
Water has a way of teaching us.
It holds weight without breaking. It moves around obstacles without losing its flow. It carries what needs to be carried.
This is the heart of Carrying the Current—a 6-pod guided experience designed to help you feel steady, prepared, and clear when conversations about suicide arise.
Whether you're responding in a moment of crisis, supporting someone long-term, or trying to navigate the gaps in our care systems, this experience is here to help you show up with clarity and care—without being pulled under.
This guided experience is made up of:
6 pods where we’ll explore themes of support, autonomy, fear, and resilience—all through the lens of water:
Floating with Fear – How to navigate uncertainty and let go of the need to “fix”
The Weight of the Water – Holding space for grief, exhaustion, and systemic realities
Holding the Container – Supporting others without overstepping or forcing outcomes
Tending to the Waters – How to care for yourself while holding space for others
Carrying the Current – Bringing this work into your life in a sustainable way
This experience is for you if you’ve ever thought:
"I wish I knew how to offer this care."
"I want to help, but I don’t know what to say."
"I need to feel more prepared when crisis strikes."
Suicide conversations don’t have to be something we avoid or fear. With guidance as we begin, they can become something we move through with steadiness, presence, and care.
This guided experience is for:
The Healers and the Helpers of these times
Those supporting a dear one who lives with suicidality
Those who want to add more suicide aware tools to your toolkit
Through short content, creative exercises, and live discussions, you’ll learn how to ask about suicide clearly and directly, offer meaningful support, and stay grounded in conversations that often feel overwhelming.
Each pod (guided session) will follow a structured yet flexible format designed to make learning accessible while creating space for reflection, discussion, and action.
How Each Pod Works
Short Content – A concise, digestible exploration of the week's theme. This could be an article, an excerpt, or a guided reflection to set the tone.
Creative Exercises – A low-pressure, reflective activity designed to deepen understanding.
Live Discussion (Zoom) – A space to unpack the theme together, practice real-life scenarios, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
Independent Exploration – A small, real-world action or reflection to integrate the learning into daily life.
So .. when are the pods?
TBD with a start date in the first half of April; once we have received everyone’s signup by this Saturday, March 29th at midnight, Cait will send out a poll on dates/times/rhythm that will work best for the majority. These pods will be live. Though a recording will be made available, live is the most encouraged form of participation.
